IGL mentoring — CS2

The IGL who learned
to call calm

Overview

The strats were fine.
The voice was not.

Darius read the game like a coach and called like a fire alarm. His ESEA Main roster had the defaults, the set plays, the anti-ecos — and a mid-round channel full of panic. Teammates stopped offering info because every call sounded like blame.

He joined Tiltproof for eight weeks of IGL mentoring: timeout scripts, clock-voice training and a review ritual that separated the caller from the calls.

The challenge

Loud calls,
quiet team

Comms audits showed the pattern: 40-second rounds where Darius spoke for 30 of them. Info dried up, defaults collapsed, and close games slipped at 11–11 with everyone waiting for someone else to decide.

The approach

Short calls,
trusted team

Five-word maximums. A designated clock voice. Timeouts with a written script instead of a speech. Within a month the roster's mid-round info tripled — measured, because Tiltproof measures everything — and they closed their first playoff series 2–0.
